چکیده

Background: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the risk peri-prosthetic fracture constructs made with cephalomedullary (CM) long and short nails. nails were titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) stainless steel (SS 316L). Methods: Biomechanical evaluation CM nail carried out regard post-primary healing determine peri-implant/peri-prosthetic fractures. Therefore, research comprised of, non-fractured, twenty-eight pairs cadaveric femora that randomized implanted four types fixation resulting in groups. These cyclically tested bi-axial mode for up 30,000 cycles. All samples then loaded failure measure loads. Three frameworks through investigation, Michaelis–Menten, phenomenological, probabilistic Monte Carlo simulation model predict damage accumulation. Findings: Damage accumulation from cyclic loading terms construct stiffness represented by Michaelis–Menten equation, statistical analysis demonstrated one can explain during load all groups ( P > 0.05). A two-stage drop observed. had a significantly higher average (0.94) than (0.90, < Long group did not differ substantially Results showed gender significant effect on both torsional bending tests 0.05 0.001, respectively). Interpretation: Kaplan–Meier survival supports use nail. We recommend clinical decisions should take age into consideration selection implants.

Short-term results of surgical treatment with cephalomedullary nails for basicervical proximal femoral fractures.

The treatment of basicervical femoral fractures remains controversial. The aim of this study was to examine the efficacy of intramedullary nail use in the surgical treatment of basicervical fractures. In total, 28 patients with basicervical fractures treated with proximal femoral nails were examined retrospectively. Fracture healing was observed in all patients, who were followed at least for 6...

Lateral decubitus for treating pertrochanteric fractures using cephalomedullary nails☆

OBJECTIVE To perform a retrospective radiographic evaluation on the fracture reduction and implant position in the femoral head among patients with pertrochanteric fractures who had been treated using a cephalomedullary nail in lateral decubitus; and to assess factors that might interfere with the quality of the fracture reduction and with the implant position in using this technique. METHODS...

Short Versus Long Cephalomedullary Nails for Pertrochanteric Hip Fracture.

This study compared patients who underwent treatment with short or long cephalomedullary nails with integrated cephalocervical screws and linear compression. Patients with AO/OTA 31-A2 or A3 pertrochanteric fractures treated with either short (n=72) or long (n=97) InterTAN (Smith & Nephew, Memphis, Tennessee) cephalomedullary nails were reviewed. Information on perioperative measures (estimated...

Intramedullary locking femoral nails. Experience with the AO nail.

The AO interlocking nail was introduced to the Ulster Hospital, Dundonald in 1988 and since then has been used in over 50 patients with femoral shaft fractures. We have reviewed 45 patients with 46 femoral shaft fractures treated between June 1988 and April 1990. These included four compound fractures and 13 comminuted fractures. The results compare favourably with other series. The union rate ...
